Ricki's book is so helpful and loaded with tantalizing treats. Anyone who has ever attempted the beast of gluten free AND vegan baking knows...it is no easy feat! And Ricki has LOADS of experience. She has been blogging in the gluten free community for years and teaches whole foods cooking classes. She is also a registered holistic nutritionist...she knows about the importance of food related to your health.
She has a great section explaining ingredients and flours, and a brief low down of gluten free vegan baking. With recipes for almost everyone...you will be excited to get in the kitchen and start baking!
If you are new to sugar free baking, this cookbook will be a great primer into natural sweeteners. Each one has its own characteristics, and baking your way through this book will teach you their nuances.
(Ricki uses an all-purpose mix of her own making in many of her recipes. I happen to be one of those rare people that can taste bean flours (in any amount) in baked goods, so every single recipe I subbed the garfava flour in her flour blend with either toasted quinoa or teff flours, all with great success. As another side...she uses flax meal...but my son is anaphylactic to those darn seeds, so I always use chia meal.)
AND THE RECIPES!! I have fallen in love with more than my fair share of the recipes in this book! So many we have made will be made again and again!
Bottom line, this is an invaluable resource for those looking to make delicious treats that are allergy friendly AND use only natural sweeteners.

A good book. You may have to get a few special ingredients, but the result is worth it.
Beautiful photos and delicious recipes. If you have been feeling deprived of tasty goodies, you have a lot to look forward. So far, everything I made is tasty and met with approval of a picky husband.
